Access E-STAT from home
Teachers and students can access E-STAT from home (via username and password or other methods). Find out if your Educational institution is registered with E-STAT.

Elementary or high school students:
Students, ask your teachers the method of access and remember the username and password for access at home.
- Click Educational institutions registered with E-STAT to verify that your school is already registered, and to find your username [in brackets].
- If you don't know your E-STAT password:
- Ask your teacher or your school's Internet technician or librarian.
- Visit your school's internal (Intranet) website. You might find information on how to access E-STAT.
If you still can not get your password, you may use the Need access to E-STAT form to automatically receive a temporary username and password for immediate access.
College and University students:
Click Educational institutions registered with E-STAT to verify that your school is already registered.
Students, ask your professor the method of access and remember to take note.
- If you don't know how to access E-STAT:
Your institution's library subscribes to the E-STAT e-database. You may get access to E-STAT through your institution's library access account or intranet site. Most postsecondary libraries provide access through their proxy server, i.e., the server recognizes you by your student ID number.
- Look for an E-STAT link on your institution's library web pages.
- Visit your institution's internal (Intranet) website. You might find information on how to access E-STAT.
- If you need help, ask at the library reference desk.
- Many universities participate in Statistic Canada's Data Liberation Initiative (DLI). If yours does, contact your DLI representative to find out how to access E-STAT.
If you still can not get your password, you may use the Need access to E-STAT form to automatically receive a temporary username and password for immediate access.
Teachers:
If you are accessing E-STAT through your school and your IP (Internet Protocol) address has been registered, no username or password is required.
- If there are modifications with the contact information of the E-STAT licence administrator of your institution, please send your Remarks to e-stat@statcan.gc.ca.
- Please ask your licence administrator (Internet technician, librarian or Principal) to let us know if there have been any changes to your IP addresses.
If you don't know your E-STAT password:
- Ask your school's Internet technician or librarian.
- Educators, teachers, send your Remarks to e-stat@statcan.gc.ca for your access information.
Teachers, if you are assigning lesson plans using E-STAT as homework, please provide your students with your school's E-STAT username and password or the method of access.
Librarians:
We do not provide usernames and passwords to libraries that receive E-STAT through the Depository Library program (DSP). Library patrons can access E-STAT on library premises only.
